The focus of the Avectec medical command and control center (AvecMedCommand) is to develop or enhance existing emergency preparedness systems to effectively respond to a public health crisis such as an earthquake, the spread of communicable diseases, or weapons of mass destruction (WMD) event. Through the use of Avectec’s contact center and knowledge management technology, local law enforcement, fire, hazardous material, emergency medical services, hospital, public health, and other first response personnel can effectively respond throughout the public health crisis.

AvecMedCommand provides a flexible command center base that can be rapidly re-configured to adapt the nature of the emergency. Furthermore, the system can be integrated with other systems to provide the latest in command center technology:

• A video wall with the capabilities to manage and display multiple computer and video sources used in the command and control center
• Centrally monitored and controlled data and communications inflow and outflow for analysis, reporting, and control
• Coordinated activities between the emergency response team and other centers
